Soho Square General Practice has been operating as an NHS Westminster GP practice for many years. We are based in the former Hospital for Women on the corner of Soho Square and Frith Street.
Originally opened as a healthcare provider for Chinese speaking patients, we provide reception and onsite translation services to support our Chinese speaking patients.
We aim to provide the comprehensive medical care to all our registered patients regardless of their race, gender, age, religion, sexuality, disability or medical condition.

Understanding additional healthcare roles
Alongside GPs and nurses, there are a number of other healthcare professionals that support our patients at the practice. They help us proactively address your health needs and increase your access to Primary Care. These roles form what is known as the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) which was introduced into the NHS in 2019. You can read more about ARRS here.

Find out moreGP Earnings
All GP Practices are required to declare mean earnings (i.e. average pay) for GP’s working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GP’s working in our Practice in the last financial year was … before tax and National Insurance.
Named GP / Preference of GP
All patients at NHS GP surgeries have a named doctor.
You will be allocated a named GP at the point of registration and this will be updated if a doctor leaves.
A patient’s named doctor does not in any way affect the services you receive nor who you may elect to see.
All patients can elect to see their choice of clinician or request a specific person – to do this you should tell our reception team your preference when booking an appointment.
We will try our best to accommodate such requests whilst ensuring that patients are seen within an appropriate time frame.
Patients should be aware that it is possible they will face a longer wait for an appointment if they will only see a specific clinician.
Complaints and Feedback
We make every effort to give the best service possible to everyone who attends our practice.
We are continually striving to improve our service. Any helpful suggestions would be much appreciated please email us at:
In the majority of cases, the best way to resolve your concerns as quickly as possible is with the front line staff or the service or organisation that you are complaining about.
Maria Cooper, our Assistant Practice Manager, is our on-site manager responsible for the Reception and Administration Team. Please ask to speak to her if you feel you have a concern which is not being addressed.
We are aware that things can go wrong resulting in a patient feeling that they have a genuine cause for complaint. If this is so, we would wish for the matter to be settled as quickly and as amicably as possible.
We take complaints very seriously. If you would like to make a complaint regarding the surgery or the services we offer, please contact the practice by telephone, email or in writing. Every effort will be made to answer your concerns as soon as possible.
Our complaints officer is Jennifer McCalvey, and all complaints should be addressed to her.
The Friends and Family Test
The NHS Friends and Family Test was created to help Practices better understand if their patients are happy with the services provided.
